The school has been operating at these premises since 1999 and the excellence of instruction, quality of training and access to true lineage is reflected in the success of the school at many levels.

Philosophy

At the school an overall respect for all living creatures is encouraged, with a constant drive towards understanding one’s own spiritual and physical path. The ancient teachings of philosophers such as Lao Tsu, Sun Tsu and Zhang Tsu are integrated from time to time into the advanced levels so as to assist in the understanding of Kung Fu applications and life itself. This philosophy is reflected in complete adherence to the proud traditions of Wudang & Shaolin.

Training equipment, weapons and uniforms

Students are provided with access to all their uniform requirements at very reasonable prices, as well as other related Kung Fu material through the shop on the grounds.

Further advice is provided on the obtaining of weapons and other equipment so that students always receive the best available equipment and also ensure that a student’s Kung Fu skill and safety is a priority at all times. Refreshments are available in the shop so the student’s needs are truly catered for.

Overseas Training

A key feature of the school is its strong belief in exposing its students to overseas opportunities to enrich and grow their Kung Fu. These trips involve the opportunity to train in China under credible masters endorsed by either Grandmaster You Xuande or Grandmaster Shi Yan Ming. Training under Grandmaster You Xuande or his students at his temple in Wuhan as well as trips to Grandmaster Shi Yan Ming’s temple in New York are also arranged.

Sightseeing trips to China’s treasures such as the Great Wall, Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Army in Xi’an, the Shaolin Temple and Chen (Tai Ji) Village are generally included when visiting Wudang for training. One will also experience the spectacular temples in the Wudang Mountains.

Health

Injuries and overall health imbalances can be treated at the school by means of Traditional Chinese Medicine, under the Hua To Taoist Schooling of Medicine. A traditional approach including acupuncture, herbs, complete dietary information and Chi Gung healing is used.

The South African Wudang Wushu Institute is recognised by the Traditional Acupuncture Centre International.
